Effective July 21, 2026. This policy applies to lightyeardata.com and website inquiries. Client engagements may include additional privacy, security, and data-processing terms in a signed agreement.
Information we collect
When you request a free data audit or contact us, we may collect your name, work email, company, industry, the operational problem you describe, and the content of later correspondence.
Our hosting and security providers may also process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and error or security logs. We do not ask for passwords, payment-card details, Social Security numbers, or production-system credentials through the audit form.
How we use information
We use the information to:
- evaluate and respond to your audit request;
- prepare and discuss a tailored dashboard sample;
- communicate about LightYear Data services you asked about;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and inquiry process; and
- meet legal, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use audit-form information for unrelated third-party advertising.
Dashboard samples and business information
An initial sample may use information you choose to provide, reliable public information where available, and clearly labeled illustrative data where actual figures are unavailable. Do not send confidential production data, login credentials, regulated personal information, or information you are not authorized to share through the website form.
Service providers and disclosure
We use FormSubmit to relay audit-form submissions to our email. FormSubmit states that it retains form submissions for 30 days. We may also use service providers for website hosting, email, storage, security, and business operations. They may process information only as needed to provide those services. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention
For inquiries that do not become client relationships, we normally delete or de-identify the inquiry record within 24 months after the last interaction. We may retain information longer when needed for an active relationship, a legal obligation, security, dispute resolution, or an applicable limitation period. Hosting and service providers may retain technical logs under their own schedules.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information we handle. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so please use the audit form only for the limited business information it requests.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted, or ask us to stop non-transactional communications. Some requests may be limited by legal or recordkeeping requirements. Contact us at ryan@lightyeardata.com.
Children
This business website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the audit form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website and service providers change. The effective date at the top will identify the current version.
